Bloom and Branch
Family Feeding Support for Every Stage
Personalized caregiver coaching to help children bloom and branch into joyful eating
Welcome
Feeding your child is not one-size-fits-all. As a licensed speech-language pathologist, I provide virtual, personalized coaching to help families navigate their child's unique feeding journey.Together, we'll build the knowledge and problem-solving skills to make thoughtful feeding decisions. My goal is to help caregivers understand the “why” behind each recommendation so they can confidently adapt those principles to their child's changing needs at home.I support families at many stages of the feeding journey:
• Parents of infants needing guidance while preparing to introduce solid foods.
• Parents of babies transitioning from bottles and/or purees to finger foods.
• Parents of toddlers ensuring their child tries new textures and tastes while managing picky eating.
• Parents of school-aged children dealing with ongoing feeding issues.
• Parents of any child (6+ mo) facing feeding concerns highlighted by their healthcare team.
About Me
My name is Natalie Barber, and I am a licensed speech-language pathologist with nearly a decade of experience supporting children and families. Throughout my time working with children on feeding skills, I discovered that some of the most meaningful progress happened when caregivers felt confident continuing strategies at home in their own kitchens where meals happen every day.As a mother of two, I understand the pressure parents may feel around feeding and the reality of mealtime stress:• meeting schedules and milestones
• making sure your child is given enough variety
• choking concerns
• pickiness
• busy family schedules
• extended family involvement
• feeling stuck serving the same foods over and overThrough coaching sessions, my goal is to equip caregivers with the tools and confidence to feel that feeding their child is not only manageable, but a source of joy and connection.Credentials:
• B.S. and M.S. from Abilene Christian University
• ASHA CCC-SLP
• Member of TSHA
• Extensive professional training in sensory-based and parent-supported feeding approaches that honor both a child’s development and a family’s real life
Why Bloom & Branch
At Bloom & Branch, feeding is viewed as a life-long journey.
• Children bloom when they are met with safety, responsiveness, and trust.
• As children grow, they branch into independence with exploring foods at their own pace.
• Parents provide the “roots”, such as the structure, consistency, and emotional support that allows their children to flourish through every season of development.I do not believe in pressure, shame, force, or rigid expectations for parents or their children. Instead, I coach parents in using responsive, play-based, and sensory-informed strategies that meet children where they are developmentally. I offer specialized, judgement-free support as feeding evolves over time.

What About Insurance?
My role is to provide caregiver coaching so that parents can be their child’s best teacher. Parent coaching is currently not considered billable to insurance.Additionally, I strive to create a feeding plan that is uniquely tailored to your family, and by bypassing insurance, we can truly make sure the plan fits your needs without the limitations that insurance can sometimes place on providers.Insurance companies often require a formal medical diagnosis, dictate how long sessions can last, determine how frequently we can meet, and set strict guidelines for what goals are considered “medically necessary.”I am an advocate for not labeling a child with a diagnosis purely for insurance purposes, nor using that diagnosis to dictate what scheduling should look like. Progress doesn’t always follow a predictable timeline, so working privately allows us the flexibility to adjust as needed. Need extra sessions during a challenging transition? Prefer longer or faster pacing between sessions depending on your goals? We can structure support in a way that caters to your family’s specific needs.
